Converting today is different from indexing an expense
A currency converter and an indexed balance solve different problems when exchange rates change.
Conversion is a snapshot; indexing keeps a reference
Imagine you pay 36,000 Bs for a shared dinner at 450 Bs per USD. That expense is worth USD 80. If the rate later becomes 480 Bs per USD, the same value corresponds to 38,400 Bs.
Simply collecting the original 36,000 Bs would return USD 75 at the later rate. Keeping the USD reference makes the difference visible. Agree the reference and repayment rule before spending.
Before you settle
Review who participated in each expense, check the amounts and currencies, and agree a settlement date. Nexxo records and calculates shared expenses; it does not move or hold your money.
